Tuba Büyüküstün: I met my husband on the set of Asi

A Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün, attractive, intelligent, who brought together the components of beauty, femininity and coquetry, and who mixed them with art that emerged from inside her. So that she showed huge potentials in this domain, which she has never dreamt to penetrate, after getting famous in television commercials field. And she has played after that different roles "Zarife", "Filiz", "Asi", "Hasret" and others in in several series like "Çemberimde Gül Oya", "Ihlamurlar Altında", "Asi", "Gonülçelen" and movies like "Yüregine Sor", "Baba ve Oğlum", "Gülizar" so that she remains a symbol of elegance and beauty for a lot of fans in the arab world whom she fascinates with her looks, her charm and smoothness.

How come you the passion for being an actress?

- In fact, I have never dreamt of becoming an actress. And when they asked as a kid about the profession I like, I was announcing a different job every week. For instance, once I said a doctor,another an engineer but the art was far from my mind.

You haven’t had a formation in the field, but how you get involved in the area of acting?

- During my studies in university, I played in TV commercials and once I graduated, Tomris Giritlioğlu, the famous producer and director in Turkey contacted me for an interview and I declined her proposal twice but she finally convinced me and I started shooting with her. I played my first role in the series "Çemberimde Gül Oya" which has been shown dubbed by the arab channels.

If you were not an actress, what is the profession you would have been exercising?

- If I haven’t been actress I would have exercised in the area of my specialization the design. But I adore performing roles in series. Honestly , I am very happy because I became an actress.

If we asked you about your memories about your first steps in art, what would you say?

- All what I remember is that I was so enthusiastic and excited. And this enthusiasm was reborn with each new role I perform.

What is the “meeting” that marked your career?

- Of course meeting with my producer Tomris Giritlioğlu.

You have an irresistible attractiveness, how can a man seduce you?

- A man has already seduced me. Honestly the smile is one of the first things which attract me to a man.

How did you meet your husband Onur Saylak?

- I met my husband on the set of Asi.

What are your secrets of beauty and elegance?

- Simplicity and spontaneity mainly, and I think that the combination of both them together is the secret of authentic beauty and elegance.

What are the principles of Tuba which she cannot give up on?

- Adherence to the values I was raised with. But sometimes I feel I make some mistakes. We are human and we all make mistakes. We are not infallible.

What does Tuba do far from the lights of fame and shooting?

- I live my private life in a normal way and usually I enjoy moments of relax by reading books, cooking and I love to spend most of time with my family, my friends and my relatives.

Music is a refinement of the soul, Are you a sensitive to oriental music?

- I like all types of Music but I love in particular the mystery inherent to oriental music.

Did you learn some few words in Arabic?

- Yes. I learnt Arabic words like "hi, how are you, thanks and welcome"

You have already visited Morocco, have you found it?

- I loved a lot my visit to Morocco and I consider it as an intense experience. I have visited some historical areas like the mosque Hassan II and the district of habous and I find it fullof tradition and culture. The Moroccan food is exquisite as well and the weather is very nice and I hope I will return soon for a visit to Morocco, because I have really enjoyed every moment in this special visit.

What is your next project?

- It is a new season for me and I have preferred to not taking part in any project during this period. I have workeda lot and non-stop and I think it is time for me to have a rest.
