PLOT

Rena Jung (Kim Sung-Ryoung) is a beautiful, but ambitious star chef who hosts her own cooking show. Her husband, Park Min-Joon (Lee Jong-Hyuk), is the first son of a family that runs a large company. Their relationship is not so good, but they try to show other people they are still in love.
In the past, Rena Jung abandoned her daughter for a chance at success. Now, her daughter, Kang Yi-Sol (Lee Sung-Kyung) appears in front of her. Kang Yi-Sol resents her mother for abandoning her.
Park Jae-Joon (Yoon Park) is the husband's younger brother. He is popular with women, but he is attracted to Kang Yi-Sol.

Yoon Park and Lee Sung Kyung to Star in MBC’s New Romantic Drama



Actor Yoon Park and actress-model Lee Sung Kyung have been confirmed as the lead couple for MBC’s upcoming weekend drama, “Flower of the Equator.”

According to a representative of the drama, Yoon Park will be playing the role of Park Jae Joon, the heir of a large company, who starts developing feelings for Kang Yi Sol. Marking her first lead role in a drama, Lee Sung Kyung will take on the character of Kang Yi Sol, who has been tragically abandoned by her very own mother, celebrity chef Lena Jung (Kim Sung Kyung).

Interestingly enough, the actor and actress are represented by JYP and YG Entertainment respectively, proving that the companies’ efforts in expanding into acting have certainly paid off.

“Flower of the Equator” (literal title) will revolve around the life of an ambitious woman and her lost daughter, and the incidents that take place following their reunion.

Woori from Rainbow and Jo Hyung Gi Cast in MBC Drama “Flower of the Equator”



Singer Woori from girl group Rainbow has been cast for MBC’s upcoming weekend drama, “Flower of the Equator.”

Woori will be playing the role of Seo Yura, who seems to display signs of bipolarity. However, as she falls in love with Park Jae Joon, the main character, her mood seems to soften. Her love for him changes her into a more mellow and balanced person.

Surprisingly, acting veteran Jo Hyung Gi has been cast for the drama as well. He has not been in a drama series in over three years. Although he has been on many variety shows and celebrity programs, “Flower of the Equator” will be the first drama in which he has had a part since 2012.

The two actors are expected to make a wonderful team along with Yoon Park and Lee Sung Kyung, the lead couple in the series.

Kim Mi Sook will play as Ma Hee Ra - stepwife of TNC company founder (Park Tae Soo) which make her stepmother of Min Joon. This will once again her villain character. Looking forward to it.Filming has been started.

Kang Tae-oh to star in "The Queen's Flower"



Kang Tae-oh from the actor group Surprise has been cast for the role of Heo Dong-goo, Kang I-sol's (Lee Seong-kyeong) childhood friend and crush.

Heo Dong-goo delivers lunchboxes, cleans hotels and does other jobs to pay back his father Heo Sam-sik's (Jo Hyeong-gi) debt. He never complains and volunteers himself as Kang I-sol's bodyguard.

The cast of "The Queen's Flower" has completed the reading session and Kang Tae-oh claims, "It's an honor to be able to star in this drama with amazing people. I think you might feel joy watching Heo Dong-goo only have eyes for I-sol and relate to him".

Kang Tae-oh debuted in September of 2013 with "See You After School - Drama" and showed off his athletic abilities in the KBS TV show "Dream Team Season 2". He then starred in MBC short-film "Drama Festival - Save Wang Jo-hyeon" and a Vietnam collaborated drama "Youth Today".

Meanwhile, "The Queen's Flower" is a drama about a woman who is full of passion reuniting with the daughter she abandoned starring Kim Seong-ryeong, Lee Seong-kyeong, Yoon Park and more on the 14th of March.
